Specialised Supported Housing

Purpose Social Homes is a demand-led and purpose-driven organisation dedicated to providing homes that empower and support individuals who have learning disabilities and/or autism and/or physical disabilities by accommodating them in Specialised Supported Housing (SSH). SSH is the provision of bespoke adapted homes for vulnerable adults. It is facilitated by The Social Housing Rents (Exceptions and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2016 which seeks to attract private capital by ensuring the income stream.

With many decades of delivering Social Housing, our team includes the full spectrum of property and construction professionals including architecture, quantity surveying, building surveying and construction. We are proud of the sustainable relationships we have built with our partners – from Housing Associations and County Councils to NHS bodies and Support Providers, as well as the residents themselves and their families.

There is a significant undersupply of Specialised Supported Housing in England, leaving many individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism without suitable living accommodation. Financial constraints have affected the ability of many Local Authorities and Housing Providers to meet the burgeoning housing demands. This supply gap has resulted in increased hospitalisation rates, higher dependency on in-patient/institutional services, readmissions to hospitals due to inappropriate environments and a diminished quality of life for vulnerable adults. There is a growing demand for Specialised Supported Housing from Local Authorities and NHS ICBs who need to meet their statutory obligations to house vulnerable adults.

At Purpose Social Homes | Certified B Corp™, we design bespoke environments that provide personalised support to vulnerable individuals, fostering confidence and independence.

Let’s continue to create a profound impact on the lives of our residents, families and their communities!
