Place-Building in Action: Supporting the RBF Initiative!

Philip Warr DL, Chief Executive, Purpose Social Homes, attended the Regional Building Foundation (RBF) workshop and dinner on behalf of His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, Michael Dooley, supporting an initiative that’s gaining national traction.

The RBF, a collaboration between The King’s Foundation and the University of the Built Environment, began as a research project funded by Innovate UK. It’s now evolving into a national organisation focused on place-building across the UK with a Vision of – “A new generation of regionally distinctive places that foster healthy, vibrant and resilient communities” and a Mission of – “To accelerate ‘Place Building’ by coordinating regional housebuilders, landowners, materials suppliers and funders with a scalable building system”.

Its work is structured around four key pillars:
~ Networking – connecting stakeholders via Regional Forums
~ Educating – sharing practical knowledge through a Digital Learning Hub
~ Enabling – unlocking small sites and SME delivery
~ Innovating – driving research and new models for quality and sustainability

Purpose Social Homes | Certified B Corp™ is excited to support this initiative, which brings together Landowners, SME builders, Investors, and Industry experts to shape enduring communities – a promising step toward a more thoughtful and sustainable future in UK housebuilding.
