Pathway to Employment Impact Report 2024!
Purpose Social Homes is pleased to share our first Impact Report for “Pathway to Employment” Initiative. Together with HM Prison and Probation Service Staff and the Employment Advisory Board, we aim to support prison leavers to get back to decent work and help them on their recovery journey.
Philip Warr DL, Chief Executive, of Purpose Social Homes currently chairs the Employment Advisory Board at HMP Guys Marsh and is also the Regional Chair for Employment Advisory Boards in Devon and North Dorset. His role involves creating engagement between the prison service and employers to increase employment prospects for prison leavers and help businesses plug skill gaps, particularly in sectors such as construction, transportation, hospitality, and manufacturing.
We are proud to showcase the case study of one of the prisoners who served several years in custody for drug-related offences and was able to change the trajectory of his life with the support of various employers and the Employment Advisory Board (EAB) at HMP Guys Marsh. Through his engagement with programs and events like the ‘Unlocking Hospitality’ initiative, he began considering a new career path in the hospitality industry and finally secured a starting position at The Ivy in London, a prestigious establishment known for its demanding yet rewarding work environment.
At Purpose Social Homes, we believe that serving prisoners and prison leavers can make a valued contribution to the workplace and society ultimately helping in sustainable development.
