Summary
Project Knights was delivered for Kent County Council to provide Specialised Supported Housing for 3 adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. The development ensured the future needs of the residents were met and provided a safe environment for vulnerable individuals who had high levels of support. Kent County Council commissioned this scheme to convert the property to create a bespoke shared living environment where residents can get an opportunity to develop their independence.

The works included
Reconfiguration of the floor plans to provide ensuite accommodation.
Provided Kitchen refurbishment with new appliances installed and new floor coverings.
Heating upgrade with new boiler and pressurised cylinder to improve the energy efficiency of the building and provided tamper-proof radiators.
Installed heavy-duty sheet vinyl flooring in rooms. Wipeable walls and flooring finishes ensured hygienic and robust living spaces that are easy to clean and maintain.
Provided a new external 1100mm high brick boundary wall which was 215mm thick with English bond concrete coping twice weathered.
Installed L1 fire alarm system with heat/smoke/carbon monoxide detection and emergency signage as per 'Fire Safety Strategy'.
Provided Electrical rewire and insulation upgrades to improve the building’s energy performance rating and to comply with the electrical installation regulations.
Off-site disposal of waste material and making good was included for all demolition, alteration and removal items including extending structure and finishing when necessary.
Improved EPC rating from D to C to decrease the long-term maintenance costs and lower the carbon footprint of the building.
