Summary
Project Bryant involved refurbishing and upgrading a relatively modern property to create Specialised Supported Housing with staff accommodation for a resident diagnosed primarily with Autism. The resident’s needs were very complex and required a bespoke specialised environment that catered for both their own needs and the needs of the support providers.
Our key focus on this project was to create the right environment by installing anti-ligature fittings throughout the property to prevent the risk of self-harm and provide a low-stimulus environment where the resident could better manage overwhelming and negative feelings.

The works included
Refurbishment and alteration of a bungalow to provide a comfortable, calm, modern independent living.
Provided the “Right Environment - a safe living space for the resident”, and this was achieved through the installation of anti-ligature fittings throughout the property.
Installed anti-ligature fittings to the resident’s bedroom & ensuite along with new flooring and redecoration to rooms.
Upgraded M&E Installations where required, including an L1 fire alarm and improved energy efficiency of the building to provide an EPC rating from C to B.
Two support staff accommodation to provide 24/7 care and support to the resident.
Existing walls and doors were upgraded to ensure a 30-minute fire resistance window which reduced the significant fire risk and improved the safety of the resident and support staff.
Refurbishment of the existing kitchen, new en-suite for the resident’s use, new anti-ligature internal doors and improvements in external areas.
Upgraded fire resistance, fire doors, new fire detection and alarm installation to comply with the fire regulations.
